As the first company to introduce tablet-based allergy vaccines, ALK has demonstrated its leadership position within specific immunotherapy innovation.
In 2006, GRAZAX® became available to patients as the first registered allergy tablet to address the underlying cause of grass pollen allergy. Tablets are a convenient way for patients to take treatment and it is expected that the launch of tablet vaccines will potentially allow many more patients suffering from allergy to benefit from allergy vaccination.
Additional studies of GRAZAX® have been conducted in order to obtain regulatory approval of the tablet as a treatment for children and young people. ALK’s product pipeline also includes tablets against house dust mite, ragweed, cat and tree pollen allergy.
