Unfortunately, the majority of allergy patients are exclusively offered medication to relieve the symptoms of the allergy. Such medication does not treat the allergy itself, and most patients find that it has no effect, or at best only a moderate effect, on their symptoms. This is the finding of a survey conducted by the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients’ Associations (EFA).
