ALK has a well-established global organizational structure for safety, health and environmental management throughout the company.
The entire system and actual performance are audited by internal auditors as well as assessed periodically by national and local authorities. ALK holds both an environmental certification (ISO 14001) and a health and safety certification (OHSAS 18001) in Denmark. The other production sites in Madrid (Spain), Vandeuil and Varennes (France), Lelystad (Netherlands) and Port Washington, Round Rock, Post Falls, Spring Mills (USA) and Missisauge (Canada) all comply with the standards of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
As in previous years, there were no complaints, and ALK complied with all legislative requirements in 2011, including environmental requirements. No unintended spills occurred during the year.
