Testimonials

As the world's largest allergen manufacturing company, with the longest history in Immunotherapy, ALK is committed to industry innovation and education.

"Dr. Richard Lankow gave a fantastic series of lectures to the Stanford Allergy Immunology fellowship program on PRE-PEN, venom immunotherapy, and new advances in sublingual immunotherapy based on published European Studies.  He also performed a hands-on demonstration of PRE-PEN skin testing which was very well done.  His teaching was invaluable and tremendously educational for our fellows.  We are also fortunate that he will be giving a pollen walk for our faculty and fellows this spring.  We are immensely grateful for his superb teaching and look forward to working with him in years to come."

“Allergen immunotherapy education is a mandatory component of all Allergy and Immunology Training Programs in this country.  Over the past several years we have had the wonderful opportunity of having Richard Lankow, PhD of ALK-Abello Laboratories present various topics to our fellows-in-training at The Tulane University Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Training Program.  The topics presented and discussed have included Allergen-Specific Immunotherapy - strategies for effective diagnosis and treatment, Sublingual Immunotherapy, and Allergen Extract Manufacture and Standardization – Quality Matters.  This month, we look forward to having a presentation on The Development of Venom Immunotherapy Vaccines.  In addition to the classroom didactic lectures, we have also had the opportunity for hands-on training in the field with Weed Walks during the spring and fall directed by Dr. Lankow and Michael Jones at ALK-Abello.  During the Weed Walks, the fellows gain knowledge in the gross description of the pollinating plants we use to skin test our patients.  Our experience with this education program has been invaluable and will remain an important component of the educational experience for our Allergists-in-training.  We look forward to continuation of this experience in the coming years.  Our fellows have enjoyed it immensely and will be better Allergists in the future as a result of this educational component of the Allergy Training Program.”

“The discussions we had on allergy immunotherapy and skin testing with the ALK-Abello scientists and representatives during my fellowship proved to be extremely helpful in developing a better understanding of diagnosing and treating patients with atopic disorders.  Once I finished my training and opened my own practice, the representatives at ALK-Abello were there to assist in ordering supplies and answering questions.  It's simple:  ALK-Abello had superior service and a better price than their competitors, so for me, the decision was easy.”
